Sword-tember 2023
What's different for this year?
Since burnout was a limiting factor, I decided that using prompts from Tim Kiminski could give me much more steam than trying to come up with 30 different historical swords on my own.

I liked working on the asteroid sword best. Inspired by king Tut's meteorite dagger, I figured I would try my hand at trying to upscale that design to make a bronze-age sword fit for a Pharaoh. My least favorite was the cosmic sword since it seemed more like an aesthetic rather than a material design I could go off of. It felt quite vague. The "holographic" prompt made me think of the holograms from Star Wars, and I thought it'd make a nice toy concept.

My favorite sword to work on from this set was definitely the fairy. I thought "what would a fairy use", and figured a small creature would appreciate a long blade as an equalizer. My least favorite was the quantum sword since the prompt was really vague. If anything, I feel like this would be better as a logo. The horror sword made me experiment with how to portray a really worn-out prop. I wish I had more time to experiment with rust and cloth texturing.

I didn't have a particular favorite for this set, but the shield prompt was the most fun to approach. Talk about an oxymoron! My least favorite was "planet" because I was already pretty burnt out from the vague astronomical prompts.
